June 10, 2019 – Annapolis, Maryland– Babur R. Mian, President and CEO of Terra Site Constructors, testified at the Maryland Board of Public Works meeting on Wednesday, June 5th in support of The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration(MDOT SHA) and the 1-270/1-493 Public-Private Partnership (P3) Proposal. At the conclusion of the hearing the P3 project was approved with amendments.
The P3 Project is intended to keep the Maryland economy growing by improving commute times for its citizens. The project aims to address the congestion in the National Capital region by widening two interstates, making improvements along I-495 from south of the American Legion Bridge in Virginia to east of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and along I-270 from I-495 to I-70 including the I-270 east and west spurs.
“I am excited that I was invited to testify at this meeting on behalf of Terra Site Constructors and our partners,” stated Mian. “The collaboration between the public sector and private industry ensures that the citizens of Maryland are benefitting from the best and most experienced teams on this vitally important project.”
Mian was joined in his support of the project by Michael Sakata, Executive Director of the Maryland Transportation Builder and Materials Association (MTBMA); Greg Andricos, P.E., President and COO of Wagman Heavy Civil; Stephen Ward, General Manager of LafargeHolcim and James Hand, owner of Concrete General, Inc.
